The Old Barn is an urban-rural retreat space, committed to wellbeing, creativity, multiculturalism, learning and community building. We're 15 minutes by train and foot, 25 minutes by bike and 10 minutes by car from Glasgow city centre, but walk along our fairy path and it's as if you've been transported to the countryside.

The Old Barn complex comprises of 5 spaces:

Yoga barn: the upstairs of The Old Barn has been designed for yoga (20 mats) and meditation. It also works well for rehearsals, exhibitions, away-days...

The Bookery: the downstairs of The Old Barn is home to our book charity. The walls are lined with bookshelves and there is a wood-burning stove and a café-type space with three 6-seater tables. This cosy space is ideal for debates, craft clubs, book clubs, away-days. A lovely space to write, dream, think, be.

The Dutch barn: this outside 3-walled barn is ideal for summer acoustic sessions, outdoor cinema, pop-up theatre, the occasional ceilidh, tai chi and practicing yoga on a warm day.

The Old Kitchen: Our new kitchen space has an open-fire and a table that seats 10. Great for songwriting, craft clubs and throwing intimate, pop-up dinner parties.

The Old Barn paddock: this green field boasts a firepit. Great for barbecues, firewalking experiences, community picnics.

The Old Barn is available to hire for £20/hour . The Old Kitchen is available to hire for £14/hour. The barn is heated with calor gas and a wood-burning stove. We charge £10/day
